Biography of Dmitry

Among modern Russian landscape painters Dmitry Levin is a significant and well-known figure. Following the best traditions of Russian realism with great respect for such prominent artists as Levitan, Korovin, Repin, Serov, Dmitry makes his unique contribution to the art of landscape painting. Dmitryís choice of artistic career was influenced to a great extent by his father, Ilya Philippovich, who was born in a family of Russian gentry that suffered from Soviet repressions.
Profoundly intellectual, his father was a good painter himself. Of course, fatherís drawings and tales about famous painters made a great impression on his son. As a schoolboy Dmitry attended art classes and finished his studies at Young artistsí school. After graduation he entered Art College named after K.A. Savitsky in Penza. The College famous for its long-existing traditions and professional teachers helped Dmitry to master the art of painting and laid the foundation of his workmanship and artistic skill. Having laid stable foundation for the building of his high-quality painting Levin continued his creative search.
His light and understandable pictures are full of deep meaning. Every of his works whether it be dear to the heart wood paths of Central Russia or narrow streets of far-off French towns give impression of being deeply true to life. This truthfulness is achieved through conscious learning of nature and love for its plastic grace. The pledge of creating such interesting and original paintings is artistís wife who acts at the same time as a connoisseur and a critic. It is no wonder that Levinís works enjoy stable success at numerous exhibitions in Russia as well as abroad because in the limits of one genre the painter whose heart is always full of good and sincere love shows us in his multifaceted works the full beauty of his palette.

Biography of Victoria

Victoria Levinaís artistic career started to take shape already in her childhood. Being observant and inquisitive child she has always had time to convey her impressions to a sheet of paper. Further studies at Young Artistsí school and later at Art College named after K.A. Savitsky in Penza not only confirmed that she chose the right path but also helped to develop professional skills, artistic taste and fine sense of nature.
In what at first seems as unremarkable scenes Victoria is able to find interesting motives and convey the beauty of what she sees through the harmony of colours. She successfully paints original still life works but her soul always belonged to the art of landscape painting. She believes that only landscape is able to express complex lyricism of a certain mood. And she successfully manages to convey it with lightness and sensual penetration characteristic of female nature. Vibrant palette and emotional richness of her paintings show a really unlimited potential of the artist. Looking at her works we discover new things in the familiar alleys of Tsaritsinsky Park and in the far-off landscapes of Northern France. This is not an embellished but a real beauty which is a pledge of artistís stable success at numerous art exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Victoria travels a lot together with her husband who is also a painter. Their trips provide them with inexhaustible creative material which they both use to a full extent in their works harmoniously complementing one another in life and art.
